Well, I've been told that by setting up a blog it will be easier to communicate with everyone about the baby. So, here goes!
January 19th. That's the day that we found out. I hadn't been feeling well for a few days and had started feeling nauseous. I decided it was time to maybe just take a test. Just to rule it out. 3 pregnancy tests then some freaking out and it was official! I couldn't believe it.
I was right in the middle of RA training which isn't exactly the time that you can rest and figure out your life. It's more like, get through the week and then remember you have a life. I proceeded to carry around crackers and ginger ale. I never got sick over the next few weeks but it was very bothersome. It's hard to wake up in the morning feeling sick, get through the afternoon feeling sick, and go to bed feeling sick. It was exhausting.
Shad and I went to the doctor on January 28th (7 weeks). I cried when he showed us the ultrasound. It was amazing. I had been stressed out since the day that I had found out because I was so unsure of what I was supposed to do but the doctor said I was doing fine and that the baby's heartbeat looked good. The baby's due date is September 14, 2011.
I don't go back to the doctor until February 22nd but it seems like things are going pretty well. I haven't been feeling great but that can be expected I guess. I have found that it's not good to eat a lot of sweets or fatty foods because it just leads to making you feel worse at the end of the day. I can't seem to get enough sleep. I'm really looking forward to the next appointment because the doctor is going to give me more of a diet and we will hopefully have another ultrasound to see how the baby is progressing. We are definitely going to find out if we are having a boy or a girl but I don't think that we find that out until about month 4. I hope the doctor will give me some digital ultrasound pictures so I can upload them here.
YAY!!! So glad you started the blog!! Can't wait to follow your adventure! I expect to see pictures posted of you & your baby bump, pronto!
