Week 34: Your pregnancy | Pregnancy Milestone | Gerber

Week 34: Your pregnancy Pregnancy Milestone Gerber

In case you were wondering what's going on with Baby Conner.

I had a little scare a few weeks ago. We went for an appointment and the doctor said I was measuring small. We went for an ultrasound and it turned out that everything is fine. Debra is in the 54th Percentile and doing well. Her heartbeat is strong and she's moving around all the time. She seems to be very active in the middle of the night, usually around 3-4am. Which naturally is perfect timing to get up and read my book.

I had the baby shower this past weekend and that was really fun. It was great to see friends and family and celebrate this crazy milestone. It's crazy to think that Debra will be here in less than 2 months! I can't wait to meet her!

Dancing Machine

The baby has turned into a dancer or a gymnast of some sort. She is moving around like crazy lately. I have discovered that she loves watermelon! Yum, Yum!

The appointment went well yesterday. The baby's heartbeat was really strong, 157-160. It was funny because when my doctor started taking the heartbeat my cell phone rang. As my cell phone kept ringing, her heartbeat went up a few numbers and she started moving around a lot. It was as if she could hear it and couldn't understand why I wasn't answering! LOL.

Our next appointment is July 11th and then we'll have them more regularly after that. It's crazy to think that in 4 short months Debbie will be here. I can't wait to meet her. Every time she moves it makes me want to really see what she looks like. We haven't had a 3D or 4D ultrasound but I think that almost makes it more exciting!

Healthy and Strong

It's been a few weeks since my last post. I'm now going into my 19th week. It seems like we just found out yesterday! We had an appointment on Tuesday and it went well. We FINALLY got to hear the heartbeat. It was 155. I know that sounds fast but apparently for babies, that's a good, healthy, and strong one! We started to talk more about diet and some of the strange symptoms that I've been having. Apparently, everything is normal and we're both healthy. I've gained 13 pounds which is not anything exciting but acceptable. We go back on May 12th for an ultrasound appointment! The doctor said we should be able to find out if we're having a boy or a girl (assuming the baby cooperates). At our 13 week appointment, the baby didn't want to turn over for anything! I hope he/she cooperates this time because I REALLY want to know! We've been talking about names. For a boy, Alexander John. For a girl, Debra Elizabeth. I haven't started feeling the baby move yet. However, I have felt a few flutters. It's sort of like butterflies. It's really cool. I think I'm going to flip out the first time I feel the baby move. I've had to start shopping for maternity clothes because I'm definitely showing now. I haven't been taking pictures of the growing baby bump but I will try to get a picture in this week. I'm thankful for the Motherhood store because they at least have cute clothes. I didn't want to buy too many things because I don't need a million maternity items but I want to be comfortable through the summer months. On Tuesday, Shad, my mom and I to Buy Buy Baby. It's like Bed Bath and Beyond but for babies! Their website is pretty amazing too. I never realized there were so many types of cribs, pack-n-plays, bath tubs, or strollers! We've been talking about ways to rearrange the apartment to make more room for the baby. The baby will have their own room and we're rearranging the living room so there will be more open space for the baby to move around. Well, that's all for now. I'll try to post some pictures and post again later this week.

Flipping

We had our second appointment this week. It was AMAZING! The baby was doing all of these flips and twisting around. It was adorable. It was like the baby knew we were watching. We were able to get an ultrasound picture showing some of the baby's face and hands. I'm going to try and take a photo of it to get it up here.

Shad's been VERY sick this week. I've been trying to take care of him but I also don't want to get sick. He's starting to feel a bit better, which is good. I hope that he didn't pass it on to me. I've had the worst sniffles the entire time I've been pregnant so I guess it wouldn't be too much of a change. Supposedly that's normal. Normal AND annoying! I also don't want to get sick because I'm not allowed to take anything.

I still haven't had any weird cravings or anything. I've been trying to stick to my healthier diet. I feel like I'm not drinking enough water so I need to pay attention to that.

Shad and I are looking to plan a little mini vacation over Spring break but we can't really decide on a place. I feel like this is really going to be our last opportunity to travel for a while so I want to take the opportunity. Hope we get it figured out soon because it would be nice to get away just the two of us.

My next appointment is March 11. I can't wait because that will be an official ultra sound. It's going to be great!

It's True

Well, I've been told that by setting up a blog it will be easier to communicate with everyone about the baby. So, here goes!

January 19th. That's the day that we found out. I hadn't been feeling well for a few days and had started feeling nauseous. I decided it was time to maybe just take a test. Just to rule it out. 3 pregnancy tests then some freaking out and it was official! I couldn't believe it.

I was right in the middle of RA training which isn't exactly the time that you can rest and figure out your life. It's more like, get through the week and then remember you have a life. I proceeded to carry around crackers and ginger ale. I never got sick over the next few weeks but it was very bothersome. It's hard to wake up in the morning feeling sick, get through the afternoon feeling sick, and go to bed feeling sick. It was exhausting.

Shad and I went to the doctor on January 28th (7 weeks). I cried when he showed us the ultrasound. It was amazing. I had been stressed out since the day that I had found out because I was so unsure of what I was supposed to do but the doctor said I was doing fine and that the baby's heartbeat looked good. The baby's due date is September 14, 2011.

I don't go back to the doctor until February 22nd but it seems like things are going pretty well. I haven't been feeling great but that can be expected I guess. I have found that it's not good to eat a lot of sweets or fatty foods because it just leads to making you feel worse at the end of the day. I can't seem to get enough sleep. I'm really looking forward to the next appointment because the doctor is going to give me more of a diet and we will hopefully have another ultrasound to see how the baby is progressing. We are definitely going to find out if we are having a boy or a girl but I don't think that we find that out until about month 4. I hope the doctor will give me some digital ultrasound pictures so I can upload them here.
